Cancer: the abhorrent disease

In my midterm project I’m going to talk about a serious disease, cancer. Cancer is a collection of related diseases, is when some of the body’s cells begin to divide without stopping and spread into surrounding tissues. In Chile cancer is a high prevalent disease.

Every year die around 22 thousand people. About 20-25% of the total deaths are by cancer.

Many cancers form solid tumors, which are masses of tissue. Cancers of the blood, such as leukemias, generally do not form solid tumors.

Cancerous tumors are malignant, which means they can spread into, or invade, nearby tissues. In addition, as these tumors grow, some cancer cells can break off and travel to distant places in the body through the blood or the lymph system and form new tumors far from the original tumor.

In my presentation I’ll talk with more details and more interesting datum. 

my favourite piece of tech

My favorite piece of technology is my notebook. I do everything on it, study, watch movies, play games etc.

When I was 8 my father made me a gift, it was my first computer. It was really big, slow, ugly  and antiquate.5 years later he gift me a new computer, it was a notebook, it was better than the old computer but 5 months later I broke the screen, I was really sad. in my 15 birthday my parents gift me another notebook.

My notebook is a Lenovo G40-30 with Intel Pentium processor, the screen is really big, I love it.

The key is ergonomic, it is perfect to me, because i like comfort.

In my rests I like playing games like counter, battlefield, crossfire etc., but games are not everything, I also study in my computer, when I have a test, a report, a work I use my computer

My notebook  is a very important tool on my life, I could do nothing without it.

My old and new dreams

When I was child I really liked Dinosaurs. I knew everything about dinosaurs, species, colors, shapes.

Because of that I wanted to be paleontologist, but i realized that it`s very difficult to be a paleontologist here in Chile. I was not sure what I wanted to be. With the passing of time I realized that I liked the basic sciences (Biology, physics, chemistry).

When I was in the preparatory I decided that I wanted to be dentist because in my childhood I had to many problems with my dentition, I felt in the stairs and hit my tooth, I lost my right temporary incisor. Because of that my teeth grew twisted, so I used brackets for 3 years.

 The other thing that I liked to be was medical technologist, because i like microbiology, bacteria, etc.

Finally i chose odontology, the problem was: which university? It was easy to decide, Universidad de Chile is the best university in Chile, now I’m there, studying, but studying isn`t everything, you can socialite, have fun, etc.

In the future I want to make people happy, make people smiling.

My life in 170 words

Hi i`m Daniel Acuña,i`ll talk about my life and my family. My mother is a small and beautiful woman, her name is Natalia. My father is like me, he is small and cheerful. I have a little sister called Trinidad, she is 3 years old, she is a beautiful little girl.I have to a little brother, he is 15 years old.

I like dogs, i think they are very loyal, they`re the best friend of the man. My dog is a little puddle called Lucas Andres. 

When i was child i liked the dinosaurs, they were the only i liked. I liked all dinosaurs thing, T-shirts, movies, toys, games,exhibitions, everything. 
I did not like my old school, it was awful, the classes were boring, the school was cold, ugly, noisy and dirty, hated it.then i joined in Instituto Nacional, it was better, I knew all my friends there, i make many things there. It was a nice stage of my life.
Now i`m studying odontology in Universidad de Chile and i`m making new friends, it`s nice meeting new people.

Hi, i`m a man that likes music, i heard rock, hard rock, but heavy metal is my favorite music genre.

there are a lot of  metal bands, judas priest, metallica, AC/DC. I like those bands but my favorite band is Iron Maiden.

I know everything of Iron Maiden because I heard them since I was 10 years old.

The members of Ion Maiden are: Bruce Dickinson, he`s the singer and compositor, Steve Harris is the bass player,Nicko Mcbrain is the drummer, Adrian Smith, Dave Murray and Janick Gers are the guitarists.

They have 16 albums:Iron Maiden, Killers, The Number of the Beast, Piece of Mind, Powerslave, Caught Somewhere in time, Seventh son of a seventh son, No prayer for the dying,Fear of the dark, The X Factor, Virtual XI, Brave new World, Dance of Dead, A Matter of life and Death, The Final Frontier and The Book of Souls.

I think that Caught Somewhere in Time is the best album, I love all the songs specially Alexander the Great, the guitars, the bass the voice is all cool.

Because of that I think Iron Maiden is perfect.
